I’ve been busy lately, between work, class, and knitting! As for the knitting, I’m working on figuring out how to knit a sweater for my mom (she said Red Heart is okay, so I’ll take a stab….I told her it wouldn’t be comfortable, but she said if I made it, she’d wear it anyways, even if it means wearing a turtleneck under it!), designing my own pair of fingerless glove, figuring out how to knit a toe-up sock without a pattern (I didn’t like any of the beginner patterns I found, and I’ve never knit a sock this way, so this is proving to be a long but interesting project!), and working on the Mystery Stole.
Actually, I haven’t started the mystery stole yet….I decided not to use the yarn I had (too thick! it’d be huge!), so I decided to order from Knitpicks, however, I have to have money first (always a problem, isn’t it?).
I’ll probably figure out something else I want to work on this weekend, too, but for now I’m trying to finish something that I started!

First thing this morning, I finished Jack Skellington, from the Nightmare Before Christmas. He’s so cute! Plus, he was really quick to knit, and took up very little yarn. I have a feeling I’m going to be making more of him!
Next, I met a lady on Ravelry who offered me some acrylic yarn, and I can home with a ton (almost litterally!). So, I’m starting to knit some stuffed animals for charity, so I can get my fix on knitting stuffed animals without taking over my home. 🙂 Not to mention, I’ll be making kids happy, and that makes me happy!
BTW, I don’t know if I mentioned it, but I’m FlaKnitter on ravelry, so those of you who are there, check out my projects and let me know what you think!
Now, for Jack:
Welcome to my blog! I’m going to try to keep up with this thing, but bear with me. I just got my Ravelry invite, I work full time, and I go to school *almost* full time. Not to mention I knit….
I really got into knitting over the summer, and the level and types of projects I can now do has blossemed from then. (Read, I could knit a square in garter stitch this summer, now I’m knitting anything I can find a pattern for and some of my own!)
I’m learning (teaching myself) how to design, and the first thing I’m designing pretty much from scratch will be socks. Toe-up, which I haven’t done before, so it’ll be a challenge, but fun.
Right now, I am working on the Three Blind Mice, and trying to figure out which of the new patterns I’d like to do next. Ravelry is so cool, but it’s given me more ideas than I could ever finish!
If you’re on ravelry, stop by and check out my stuff, and say hello! I’m Flaknitter there, and while I don’t have much up yet, I should be getting more as time goes by.
Thanks for reading and happy knitting!
